Whether you think actor Charlie Sheen's recent behavior is bi-polar, sad, highly entertaining, or hilarious, one thing is for sure - he has made quite the impression on the Twitterverse.
The beleagured (former) star of CBS's "Two and a Half Men" joined Twitter earlier this week via @CharlieSheen. He has since amassed more than 800,000 followers, who apparently can't wait to hear about tiger blood and winning, two of Sheen's favorite topics.
In an interview with NBC earlier this week, Sheen said that Alcoholics Anonymous is intended for "people that aren't special. People that don't have tiger blood, you know, Adonis DNA." He later used the #TigerBlood hashtag on Twitter, propelling it to the top of Twitter's trending topics in the United States and worldwide.
The term "winning" is also a popular topic in various U.S. cities like Los Angeles and New York. Being a winner has been a major topics of discussion in the various interviews Sheen has given this week. When asked if he was bi-polar, Sheen denied it, saying instead that he was "bi-winning." Sheen's bio on Twitter says that he is an "unemployed winner."
On Twitter, Sheen is open to discussion. "Questions..? I'm here for my people..! Bring it!! #Tigerblood," he tweeted.
One person he won't be discussing things with, however, is Nancy Grace. "Just got invited to do the Nancy Grace show... I'd rather go on a long road trip with Chuck Lorre in a '75 Pacer," Sheen tweeted.
Lorre is the writer behind "Two and a Half Men," which shut down production recently amidst Sheen's increasingly self-destructive and erratic behavior. First, Sheen reportedly trashed a room in the upscale Plaza Hotel last year after partying with a prostitute. In January, he was hospitalized for hernia condition that was aggravated after another night of partying. He has also had a very public battle with estranged wife and mother of his twin sons, Brooke Mueller. Mueller obtained a restraining order against Sheen on Tuesday.
At first, CBS delayed production of "Two and a Half Men" until late February, but after Sheen went on a radio show and insulted Lorre, the network shut down production for the rest of the season.
That prompted Sheen's media blitz and meme-worthy quotes. A WordPress blog put Sheen's quotes on pictures of cats, and a "Who said it? Sheen or Gadhafi?" slideshow is making the rounds.
Sheen was reportedly encouraged to join Twitter by friend Wynner Mitchell, one of the 16 people Sheen is now following. The other 15 include comedian Paul Scheer, Fred Durst, Floyd Mayweather, San Francisco Giant Brian Wilson, Yankee Nick Swisher, mommy tech blogger Cat Schwartz, CNN host Piers Morgan, Howard Stern, Alyssa Milano, Ad.ly exec Chris Ovitz, Twitter exec and former agent Omid Ashtari, porn star Bree Olson, watch maker Bob Maron, and Sheen's assistant Rick Calamaro.
