Days after Verizon Wireless shut down its iPhone pre-sale amidst overwhelming demand, the mobile provider and Apple are again accepting orders for the coveted smartphone.

The Apple.com homepage is currently focused solely on the device. Under a large iPhone 4 banner, the text reads, "Order or reserve your iPhone 4 on Verizon now." Clicking through now provides the option to order the smartphone on AT&T or Verizon (click below for larger image).

The Verizon Wireless Web site is also now accepting orders.

Apple said last week that phones ordered on Wednesday will be available for delivery or in-store pickup on February 10. Apple and Verizon Wireless stores will open at 7am tomorrow for those who want to purchase the devices in-store.

Apple, Verizon Now Accepting iPhone Orders

Verizon started accepting pre-orders for its existing customers at 3am on Thursday, February 3. The company ended that offer by 8:10pm Eastern after what it called the "most successful first day sales in the history of the company."

A JPMorgan analyst this week suggested that Verizon might have sold 500,000 iPhones during that pre-sale, though Verizon has not yet released solid sales figures.

My Experience

I started out covering tech policy in DC for The National Journal, where my beat included state-level tech news and all the congressional hearings and FCC meetings I could handle. I later covered Wall Street trading tech before switching gears to consumer tech. I now lead PCMag's news coverage.

My Areas of Expertise

Getting my start in DC means I still have a soft spot for tech policy; Congressional hearings can sometimes be as entertaining as a Bravo reality show, for better or worse. But PCMag is all about the technology we use every day, as well as keeping an eye out for the trends that will shape the industry in the years ahead (or flop on arrival). I've covered the rise of social media, the iOS vs. Android wars, the cord-cutting revolution that's now left us with hefty streaming bills, and the effort to stuff artificial intelligence into every product you could imagine. This job has taken me to CES in Vegas (one too many times), IFA in Berlin, and MWC in Barcelona. I also drove a Tesla 1,000 miles out west as part of our Best Mobile Networks project. Of late, my focus is on our hard-working team of reporters at PCMag, guiding and editing their robust coverage.
