Verizon Wireless has published a holiday gift idea page touting several Galaxy S products, including the unreleased Samsung Continuum.

Samsung Continuum

The guide advertises the Samsung Fascinate, the Samsung Galaxy Tab, and the Continuum (click for larger image). The Fascinate launched on September 8 for $199.99 with a two-year contract, and the Galaxy Tab tablet is expected to hit Verizon on November 11 for $600.

The Continuum, however, has not yet had a formal release. But Samsung is holding a November 8 press event in New York City, where it is widely expected to release the Continuum, which has a little secondary screen below the main screen that can show information like stock prices.

Verizon's gift guide page provides few other details expect to say that the Continuum is "coming soon," and invite people to sign up for additional information. As Phone Scoop points out, the device appears to be a slab-style touch screen phone with the two separate displays. It includes the normal Android control keys with a small screen underneath that appears to show a text message on the Verizon mock up.

PCMag will be at Samsung's November 8 event, so stay tuned for more details.

My Experience

I started out covering tech policy in DC for The National Journal, where my beat included state-level tech news and all the congressional hearings and FCC meetings I could handle. I later covered Wall Street trading tech before switching gears to consumer tech. I now lead PCMag's news coverage.

My Areas of Expertise

Getting my start in DC means I still have a soft spot for tech policy; Congressional hearings can sometimes be as entertaining as a Bravo reality show, for better or worse. But PCMag is all about the technology we use every day, as well as keeping an eye out for the trends that will shape the industry in the years ahead (or flop on arrival). I've covered the rise of social media, the iOS vs. Android wars, the cord-cutting revolution that's now left us with hefty streaming bills, and the effort to stuff artificial intelligence into every product you could imagine. This job has taken me to CES in Vegas (one too many times), IFA in Berlin, and MWC in Barcelona. I also drove a Tesla 1,000 miles out west as part of our Best Mobile Networks project. Of late, my focus is on our hard-working team of reporters at PCMag, guiding and editing their robust coverage.
