Amazon's Kindle will be available at Staples on Sunday, Oct. 10, the office supply retailer announced today.

The e-reader will be sold in all Staples stores, and Staples has set up interactive displays that will allow customers to play with the Kindle before purchasing.

"Kindle is just one example of a host of hot tech items customers can get at Staples this holiday season," Jevin Eagle, executive vice president of merchandising and marketing at Staples, said in a statement. "From our hands-on displays to our knowledgeable associates, Staples makes buying technology easy any time of year."

Staples first announced plans to sell the Kindle in August, but said only that they would be in stores in the fall.

Staples will carry three Kindles, two of which will be available on Sunday; the $139 6-inch Wi-Fi version and the $189 6-inch Wi-Fi plus 3G model. The $379 Kindle DX, with a 9.7-inch screen, will be available at Staples in mid-November. The store will also sell a variety of Kindle accessories.

Last month, Best Buy said it would also sell the Kindle. Target started selling the device on June 6. For more details, see PCMag's full review of the latest Kindle.

My Experience

I started out covering tech policy in DC for The National Journal, where my beat included state-level tech news and all the congressional hearings and FCC meetings I could handle. I later covered Wall Street trading tech before switching gears to consumer tech. I now lead PCMag's news coverage.

My Areas of Expertise

Getting my start in DC means I still have a soft spot for tech policy; Congressional hearings can sometimes be as entertaining as a Bravo reality show, for better or worse. But PCMag is all about the technology we use every day, as well as keeping an eye out for the trends that will shape the industry in the years ahead (or flop on arrival). I've covered the rise of social media, the iOS vs. Android wars, the cord-cutting revolution that's now left us with hefty streaming bills, and the effort to stuff artificial intelligence into every product you could imagine. This job has taken me to CES in Vegas (one too many times), IFA in Berlin, and MWC in Barcelona. I also drove a Tesla 1,000 miles out west as part of our Best Mobile Networks project. Of late, my focus is on our hard-working team of reporters at PCMag, guiding and editing their robust coverage.
