NetQin Mobile Anti-virus for BlackBerry v4.0 (free, direct), released today, join's NetQin's parallel products for Android and Symbian. In addition to on-demand and real-time antivirus scanning the product offers an anti-lost feature. It will also back up contacts and restore them to the same device or a different device.

The antivirus component uses two scan engines, one local and one cloud-based, to scan for viruses, spyware, and other malicious apps. Trend Micro Mobile Security for Android ($3.99 direct) also offers cloud-based malware detection. Automatic updates ensure that the local antivirus stays up to date. A real-time protection component detects new threats and blocks them before they can install.

Like Norton Mobile Security for Android 1.5 beta (Free) and Lookout Mobile Security ($2.99 direct), NetQin includes a number of options to deal with a lost or stolen phone. You can remotely send it a command to report its location, determined either by GPS or by cell-tower triangulation. If that doesn't help find it, another command will sound a noisy alarm. NetQin also lets you remotely lock the phone, to prevent a thief getting access to your data. And if the phone is irretrievably lost you can remotely wipe its contents.

The contacts backup feature will make a copy of your contacts to the SDCard if desired. More useful, though, is backing up to the server using your NetQin account. By using the NetQin account you can "backup/restore your contacts seamlessly between different operating systems, such as BlackBerry, Android, Symbian." Lookout Mobile also includes contact backup, and adds backup of photos and call history.
