Pros & Cons

MVP Baseball 2005 Specs

ESRB Rating: E for Everybody
Genre: Sports
Platform: GameCube
Platform: PC
Platform: PlayStation 2
Platform: Xbox

MVP Baseball 2005 brings unprecedented player control to baseball games. You can move around in the batter's box, so your opponent has a harder time targeting batting zones, and use the right thumbstick to control which side of the bag a player slides to. While pitching, you can quickly manage your bull pen by using the menu that appears when you press R2. Hitting is directional, using the left thumbstick, and Hitter's Eye replays can be used to analyze and correct your swing. There are eight different modes of play, including exhibition, Dynasty, a new owner mode, and new (and fun) minigames for pitching, batting, and fielding. The Xbox and Nintendo GameCube versions look dramatically better than the PS2 version, so you might want to choose one of the other console titles in this roundup if you're looking for PS2 baseball. (For GameCube, PC, PS2, and Xbox.)
