Microsoft is appealing to cord cutters with a digital TV tuner for Xbox One that will let console owners watch local broadcast channels from Microsoft's device.
Redmond made the option available to Xbox One preview program members last month, but it is now available to all console owners in the U.S. and Canada.
It's not as easy as a software update, though. You'll need to purchase a TV tuner and antenna to tap into broadcast channels.
Microsoft is offering an over-the-air TV bundle—a Hauppauge Digital TV Tuner for Xbox One plus Mohu Leaf 50 antenna— for $99.99 on its website. A standalone tuner is $59.99 on Microsoft's site or Amazon.
Visit gomohu.com/xbox to check which channels are available in your area, and to find the right HDTV antenna.
Once connected, pause up to 30 minutes of live TV, watch shows while playing games, and navigate channels using Kinect voice controls. You can also stream over-the-air content to other devices via the Windows 10 Xbox app, or the Xbox One SmartGlass application on Windows, Windows Phone, iOS, and Android.

If you already watch TV on your console via on-demand apps like HBO GO, Netflix, Comedy Central, and Hulu Plus, or stream live Internet content from Sling TV, those channels will remain accessible alongside new local options, without having to switch inputs.
The news comes after Xbox users in 11 European countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, and Switzerland) recently joined Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the U.K. as part of Microsoft's Xbox One Digital TV Tuner preview program.
