Apple reportedly plans to unveil a revamped MacBook Pro later this year.

Citing KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and anonymous sources, 9to5Mac tipped a "thinner and lighter" design, with Touch ID support and an OLED display above the keyboard. That touch bar will reportedly replace the row of function keys on the next-gen 13-inch and 15-inch Pro models. No further details were revealed. But you can imagine sliding a finger up or down to adjust screen brightness and volume or tapping to launch Dashboard apps or glimpse multiple desktops.

The bad news? They're not expected until sometime in the fourth quarter.

The updated laptops, meanwhile, are also said to feature new metal injection-molded hinges, USB-C support, and Thunderbolt 3, as well as Touch ID—the fingerprint recognition function currently used to unlock various iOS devices.

9to5Mac also teased a 13-inch version of the new 12-inch MacBook Apple updated last month.

Neither Apple nor Kuo immediately responded to PCMag's request for comment.

Apple's next big event is its Worldwide Developers Conference, set for June 13-17 in San Francisco.
