Over the last few weeks, rumors about what Apple will unveil today at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco have reached fever pitch. There have been "leaks" that Mac laptops will be updated with Retina displays and Ivy Bridge processors, and buzz that the Mac Pro will finally be updated after an almost two-year wait.

While we expect most of the announcements to indeed be mainly hardware, we'll also probably get some updates on OS X Mountain Lion and iOS. The launch of iOS 6 seems to have been confirmed by the banners that now adorn the Moscone Center, where WWDC is taking place.

Readers we polled, meanwhile, are really, really, really hoping that the Cupertino-based company will announce a new iPhone 5. That, however, appears unlikely, as the iPhone 4S only just launched in October. Others, meanwhile, are looking forward to that Retina display MacBook and iOS 6.

Recent rumors have also pointed to a revamped iCloud, Facebook integration with iOS 6, and a 3D mapping solution, among other things.

Well, the end is near, and we will finally find out what Apple is planning to unleash on the suspecting population. PCMag will be there, as lead analysts Joel Santo Domingo and Sascha Segan will be at the keynote to give us a blow-by-blow account in PCMag's liveblog below. We'll start our coverage at 12:30 p.m. ET, and the keynote will start at 1 p.m. ET.

Until then, check out Apple WWDC 2012: What to Expect.

Laarni Almendrala Ragaza

Former Managing Editor, Hardware

Laarni started her career with PC Magazine in 2000 as a staff editor for the Network Infrastructure team. Over the years, she took on several positions, usually within the realm of Hardware, including Associate Editor, Section Editor, PCMag Labs Director, and a brief stint as Reviews Editor for the Consumer Electronics team. Laarni earned a Master's Degree in Radio and Television from San Francisco State University. Why she didn't pursue that particular career path is a story best told over shots of tequila. In her (non-existent) spare time, Laarni enjoys watching sci-fi and procedural dramas, reading, jewelry-making, baking, and hanging out with her family. She also collects random pop culture trivia, and dreams of winning the lotto someday.
