The Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick, designed for use with flight simulations, features a weighted base, an eight-way hat switch, and throttle controls, along with 12 ideally placed, programmable buttons and a rapid-fire trigger. A twist handle simulates rudder control for flying games, and a single centering spring in the body of the controller makes for smooth and accurate movement. The lack of force feedback will probably turn off more experienced digital flyboys, though.
