When announced, many people were bewildered by the thought of spending cash on the Nintendo Wii Zapper. After all, it was merely a shell for a controller already well-designed for shooters. However, the real surprise came when Nintendo revealed that the Wii Zapper would include the pack-in title Link's Crossbow Training, and the bundle would cost only $20.

Link's Crossbow training t puts Link in a variety of target-training scenarios, throughout the familiar settings from The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess universe. One minute you're controlling Link in an on-the-rails style approach, shooting quickly at as many bull's-eye targets as possible. The next minute you're maneuvering Link from a third-person perspective, taking down familiar bad guys. In all, there are roughly 10 levels that one can breeze through pretty fast, though the later levels put up more of a challenge. Multiplayer is present, yet hindered a bit. It's not simultaneous; instead you pass around one remote and watch the previous/next player until the next round. Though designed for the Wii Zapper shell, I found playing with just the Wii remote and nunchuck more effective. Also, the game's sensitivity levels can't be tweaked as much as I'd hoped. Overall, though, the Wii Zapper/Link's Crossbow Training combo is a great value and a no-brainer for any Wii owner.
