Fandango (for iPhone) Review

Fandango's home screen touts just one film, but you can use the button toolbar along the bottom to see hot new movies and what's in nearby theaters.

The first thing you do when you first run the app is to allow it access to your location. Otherwise, how's it supposed to find where your closest local theaters are located?

Fandango shows you your closest movie palaces, and lets you keep your favorites in its My Theaters section. Note an orange ticket icon means you can buy tickets inside the app. Note also that the app is rife with advertisement.

The Movies section lists upcoming, recently opened, and currently playing films.

The Go or No rating system is used on Fandango's movie pages. You'll also see a plot summary and cast info.

The Go Now button shows the closest, soonest-playing movies around you.

Fandango has the most direct ticket-purchasing system of any app we reviewed. There is, however, a convenience fee ranging from 50 cents to 2 dollars, and usually $1.
