Logitech's new Illuminated Living Room Keyboard keeps PC-to-TV users tethered to their devices from anywhere in the house—even when it's dark.

Aimed at connected-TV owners, the K830 rechargeable keyboard sports backlit keys, an integrated touchpad, and advanced wireless connectivity for accessing TV, movies, music, and photos from the comfort of your couch.

"More and more consumers want an easy way to access movies, TV programs, music, and photos with their PC connected to a TV," said Charlotte Johs, Logitech's global vice president of brand development for PC accessories.

Like many smartphones and tablets, the keyboard automatically dims and brightens based on the amount of light in the room. After five seconds of inactivity, the backlight shuts off to help save power; begin typing again to illuminate the keys.

Designed for what Logitech called "the modern living space," the K830's aesthetic blends into your home, making it "a standout choice for people with connected TVs," Johs said. Use the keyboard for password entry, search queries, status updates, browsing, or blogging, without any extra wires or gadgets.

By combining the traditional keyboard and separate mouse into one device, Logitech hopes to avoid clutter and "the constant chore of keeping track of both in your couch cushions." The home theater PC keyboard also boasts a 2.4GHz long-range wireless connection, allowing users to continue working on a PC from up to 33 feet away.

The award-winning lightweight device comes with soft-feel keys optimized for media and entertainment control, plus a responsive touchpad with cursor control. Its rechargeable battery also promises 10 days of convenience after only three hours of charge via a micro-USB cable.

Users can also download compatible software that allows the customization of the keyboard and touchpad settings.

Logitech's Illuminated Living-Room Keyboard K830 is available now to preorder for $99.99; the keyboard is expected to make its U.S. and European debut sometime this month.
