Pros & Cons

The Heaven DX11 Benchmark Pro ($495 direct), by Unigine, is a software package that benchmarks video hardware performance on PC systems. It supports both Nvidia's Scalable Link Interface (SLI) and AMD's CrossFireX technologies, and can render with Microsoft's DirectX 9 (DX9), DX10, and DX11 platforms, as well as OpenGL 4.0.

Heaven makes extensive use of tessellation (and can be configured to use three different levels of it in benchmark runs), advanced ambient occlusion, and dynamic global illumination. Four 3D modes are supported as well: 3D vision, anaglyph, iZ3D, and separate images.

The Pro version of Heaven introduces command line automation, can report results in CSV format, features a looping mode for purposes of stress testing, and includes technical support.

Heaven DX11 Benchmark Pro requires a system running Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7; any 32- or 64-bit processor; 300MB of hard drive space; and an ATI Radeon HD 2000 or Nvidia GeForce 7000-series video card or better with at least 512MB of video memory. (Testing tessellation requires Windows Vista or Windows 7 and a card that support DX11.)
