LG G3 (T-Mobile) Specs

The LG G3 is the most advanced smartphone on the market, complete with an impossibly sharp Quad HD display and laser-assisted camera. All the usual fixings are here, too, including up-to-date Android 4.4 software, a speedy Snapdragon 801 SoC, and solid battery life. Throw in oft-requested features like a removable battery and microSD card storage expansion and it's easy to see why Android enthusiasts are drawn to the G3. T-Mobile customers can buy it outright for $598.80 (32GB) or 24 monthly payments of $24.95, which is less than the $660 the Galaxy S5 commands for the 16GB model. It's an impressive piece of hardware and earns our Editors' Choice award for Android smartphones on T-Mobile.

We've already reviewed the G3 on AT&T, so head over to that review for a full rundown of the phone's features and design. The T-Mobile model is physically identical, so we'll focus on carrier specific differences for this review.

Network and Call Quality

The T-Mobile G3 supports quad-band GSM, UMTS (1700/1900/2100MHz), and LTE (Bands 2, 4, 7, and 17). That covers the carrier's fast HSPA+ 42 network and LTE networks, both of which impressed in our latest Fastest Mobile Networks tests. I tested call quality in an area with solid T-Mobile coverage and found the G3 to be a good voice phone, but nothing to write home about. Volume in the earpiece is generously loud and able to cut through distracting noise. Voices on the other end of the line sound natural and clear. Transmissions through the mic sounded a bit digitized, especially in noisier environments, but still easy enough to understand.

Note: The slideshow below is of the AT&T LG G3, which is physically identical to the T-Mobile model.
