The third installment in the Fallout series outdoes its predecessors in providing a riveting and addictive gaming experience. It has a compelling story line that revolves around themes of solitude and self-identity; gamers will find themselves immersed in hours of game play, exploring a postapocalyptic world that goes far deeper than the game's designated quest-path. Thanks to this, Fallout 3 has more of the characteristics of a role-playing game than most shooters on the market today have. Don't let this mislead you, though, as the diverse enemies, weapon selections, and the new V.A.T.S. (Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System) allow for dynamic combat scenes. Overall, Fallout 3 will surpass many gamers' expectations and is a purchase worth making.
