Pros & Cons

For this package, Disney Interactive bundled its Learning Adventure: Search for the Secret Keys and Disney/Pixar's Buzz 2nd Grade (reviewed in After Hours, September 3) with an all-new title, The Jungle Book Learning. The older offerings are terrific, but unfortunately, The Jungle Book isn't.

Kids help Mowgli and his buddy Baloo find a magic object to chase away an evil tiger by solving reading and math puzzles. They build walls of phrases and sentences using bricks of words, shoot at letters and diphthongs to complete words in a phonics exercise, and follow a map through the jungle to more than a dozen activities. But the exercises go on too long before kids earn the rewards they need.
