Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+

With a faster processor and better networking than its predecessor, the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ is so much more than a $35 computer if you're comfortable running Linux and tinkering with hardware.

A Tiny Desktop

At first glance, the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ really is little more than a circuit board with a few components bolted on, measuring just 0.63 by 3.5 by 2.2 inches (HWD).

Bottom

The bottom of the circuit board has far fewer protrusions, for easy mounting.

SD Card Slot

The SD card is not included with the Model B+, but one is required to run an operating system.

Case

An optional but essential $9 official case protects the open circuitry of the Model B+.

Case Bottom

The bottom of the case is a made of raspberry-red plastic.

Port Selection

The Model B+ mostly has the same ports as its predecessor, including four USB 2.0 ports. Its Ethernet port has been upgraded to support transfer rates of up to 300Mbps.

More Ports

There's also a micro USB port to supply power, as well as HDMI and 3.5mm outputs.

Case Top

The case is modular, which allows easier access to the circuit board without removing it entirely.
