Pros & Cons

Dell 2100MP Projector Specs

Weight: 4 lb

It's the little things that set the Dell 2100MP apart. At just 4 pounds, it's one of the lightest projectors we reviewed, and its hard carrying case provides more protection than the others. But the 2100MP doesn't have an optical zoom—making it more difficult to set up—or a speaker. Admittedly, most projector speakers aren't very effective, but in many situations they are better than nothing.

The 2100MP is bright enough to create a small image in a well-lit room, but at 759 lumens, this model is only a little more than half as bright as the brightest model we tested, the NEC VT460, and colors with the 2100MP look washed out in a brightly lit room. Aside from the muddy yellows and dark reds common to most DLP projectors, the 2100MP has excellent image quality on both PowerPoint slides and video images. Based on image quality alone, the 2100MP is a good value, but it loses points for the details it lacks.
