Although all the database solutions we reviewed are powerful and accessible, FileMaker Pro 7 and QuickBase stand out as the easiest database programs to use. FileMaker's visual relationship designer and smooth validation rule-writer hide complicated DBM functions and present users with straightforward tools. We also like its easy sharing and deployment capabilities and its controls for fine-tuning user access to restricted data.
QuickBase presents an impressive library of prebuilt business applications that save design time, and it's without question the easiest solution to set up and administer without IT help. Despite its Web-only position, QuickBase shines with its remarkable flexibility and richness.
