Samsung Gear VR (2017)

The Samsung Gear VR headset hasn't had many physical changes from its 2016 model. It fits over your head with Velcro straps, and you snap a Galaxy phone into the front.

The faceplate on the front of the Gear VR is just there for show; you remove it to add the phone.

The padding around the eyepieces is removable, so it can be easily replaced if it gets sweaty.

The Gear VR was made by Samsung in cooperation with Oculus and Facebook, and it uses Oculus software.

There's a touch pad on the side of the headset for controlling it, but it's better to use the Bluetooth controller.

The Gear VR's Bluetooth controller has a touchpad, a trigger, and several buttons.

The Bluetooth controller is comfortable to hold and really improves the Gear VR experience.
