When it comes to #firstworldproblems, not many things are worse than standing in line for an extended period of time. Fortunately, Nissan has developed technology to make this fact of life a little more pleasurable.

The Japanese automaker this week debuted what it's calling the ProPILOT Chair — an autonomous chair that automatically queues for you while you sit back and relax. With its built-in cameras, the high-tech chair "detects and automatically follows the chair ahead of it, maintaining a fixed distance and travelling along a set path."

Nissan drew inspiration for this new chair from its ProPILOT autonomous driving technology, which has been available in the company's Serena minivan in Japan since August. The ProPILOT technology allows the vehicle to maintain a safe distance between the car ahead, and ensures that it stays in the center of its lane.

This autonomous chair may be a bit of a marketing stunt, but Nissan actually wants to deploy it in the real world. The company is currently looking for restaurant partners in Japan who want to offer this technology to their customers. Restaurants in Japan can express their interest by tweeting their name and webpage along with the hashtags #NissanProPilotChair #Wanted. Chosen establishments will be outfitted with the technology next year.

Meanwhile, this isn't even Nissan's first foray into chair technology. The company earlier this year teased self-parking office chairs, which can push themselves in with a single clap of the hand.
