Buying Guide: Pandigital 8-inch PanTouch Digital Photo Frame

Pandigital's 8-inch PanTouch Digital Photo Frame has terrific color accuracy and offers adjustment controls for brightness, contrast, tint, and color—perfect for serious photography enthusiasts. Color is more accurate than in the too-punchy Kodak EasyShare EX811 and much deeper than in the too-cool Sony DPF-V900 9" Digital Photo Frame, both of which we rated highly. The frame also features hidden touch-sensitive buttons on the mat-like border of the LCD that provide ATM machine-style controls—a nice touch! (get it?). The user interface and overall aesthetics could use a bit more polish; hiding the IR blaster for the remote, like Sony does, would be a good start. Online photo albums can be accessed over Wi-Fi, but there is no option that lets you automatically check for and download new online photo albums like Kodak's frame does. If you're shopping for a frame with high image quality, an easy-to-use interface and wireless capabilities, the PanTouch is a good choice with an equally good price.
