The Glidecam HD-2000 is a handheld camera stabilization system that allows you to get a smooth shot.
Without Camera
It consists of a broad cheese plate—a flat piece of metal with lots of holes that allow you to properly center your camera, regardless of what body and lens combination you are using.
Thumb Screws
The position of the top cheese plate can be adjusted via thumbscrews.
Cheese Plate
A pole runs between the top plate and a bottom plate, which holds a number of counterweights that are required to properly balance the device.
Cheese Plate
The cheeseplate is lined with standard 1/4-20-inch holes, but an aftermarket quick release plate is required for it to be truly effective.
Holding the Glidecam
To hold the Glidecam properly you'll want to use one hand to support the weight of the rig and the other to position the camera.
Adjusting the Z Axis
The pole is adjusted with a thumbscrew. The distance between the top and bottom of the rig affects the Z axis balance.
Counterweights
Counterweights are aattached or detached from the bottom of the Glidecam via thumbscrews.
Adjusting the Counterweights
When you balance everything perfectly the hinge and counterweights work to eliminate distracting shake—even if you're running down the street to get a dynamic shot.
