The tower defense game may have a relatively commonplace humans against aliens setting, but its multiplayer twist makes it stand out among the crowd.

Tutorial Time

Anomaly 2 Multiplayer beta starts out with a single-player tutorial. The player controls a commander who walks along his mechanical troops and provides support.

Steer the Path

In the Tactical View, the commander can see paths on the map and direct his units. The various, deployable buffs are displayed on the left and make a huge difference in combat - like repair, a decoy, focusing fire, and more.

Mulitplayer Tactics

In a multiplayer battle, the commander can attack either of three reactors, so the towers need to react fast and build up defenses. Similarly, the panel on the left displays buffs deployable on towers in real-time combat and the panel on the right shows towers you can build.

High Intensity, Low Frequency

The combat looks great, and matching units that can counter each other effectively is key. During clashes, the powerups make all the difference, though the battles happen and end surprisingly quickly.

Will Earth Survive?

There isn't much story in the beta, but the full game features a complete single-player campaign.
