As expected, Bethesda Softworks today released the first trailer for the highly anticipated next installment of its Fallout gaming series.

Fallout 4 is being developed for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, with The Elder Scrolls developer Todd Howard at the helm.

"We know what this game means to everyone," Howard said in a statement. "The time and technology have allowed us to be more ambitious than ever. We've never been more excited about a game, and we can't wait to share it."

Bethesda said the title will have its official world premiere during Bethesda's E3 Showcase at Hollywood's Dolby Theater. Tune in to Twitch and YouTube on June 14 at 10 p.m. Eastern to watch. For now, however, fans can watch the game's official trailer.

In a post-apocalyptic world that has been darkened by nuclear war, a stray dog appears, sniffing around a ravaged house, which once belonged to a happy family and their hover robot.

The rest of the cinematic trailer shifts between a pre- and post-ravaged Boston, where survivors face angry zombies, armored soldiers, and the occasional android. The lone pup eventually finds a partner—a Pip-Boy (personal information processor) armed with a rifle and wearing what appears to be a Vault 111 jumpsuit. "Let's go, pal," he suggests and the two walk down a deserted road.

Fallout 4 has not yet been rated by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). Bethesda is also mum about a release date and availability, which is likely to be announced later this month.

In the meantime, pre-order your copy online for $59.99 from Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, or Target.
