Olympus Tough TG-820

The Olympus Tough TG-820 isn't the company's top-end rugged camera, but it's no slouch in terms of toughness, performance, or image quality.

A 5x zoom lens may seem paltry in terms of standard point and shoots, but is pretty impressive in a tough camera. It covers a 28-140mm focal range, identical to the one found on the Nikon AW100.

The camera's rear LCD is 3 inches in size and features a brilliant 1030k-dot resolution—which makes it extremely sharp.

In terms of toughness, the TG-820 is rated for use 33 feet underwater, can survive a 6.6-foot drop, works in temperatures as low as 14°F, and can be crushed under 220 pounds of pressure.
