The Netflix of Books is now available on the Kindle Fire.
Online publishing platform Scribd launched its unlimited e-book subscription service in October for iOS, Android, and the Web.
Today, the company celebrated 3 million mobile app downloads with the release of Scribd for the Amazon tablet.
"Since the launch of our subscription service on October 1, 2013, demand for such an app has been astounding—more than 100,000 users have come to Scribd seeking an app for their Kindle Fires. So, Kindle fire users rejoice!" the company said in a blog post.
The new app is compatible with all Kindle Fire models, including the Fire HD and Fire HDX, and is available to download online.
At the fall launch of Scribd's e-book library, HarperCollins Publishers was the sole major publishing partner signed up for the initiative, opening a majority of its U.S. and Christian backlist catalog to subscribers.
The service promises all-you-can-read access with no limits, plus personalized recommendations. Plus, Scribd syncs across devices, so you can start a book on your iPad and later pick it up on your phone without losing your place. Also bookmark you favorite titles and save them for offline viewing.
Boasting 50 percent mobile usage growth per month, Scribd has not forgotten its loyal iOS and Android fans, who can now download the latest app updates. Based on community feedback, users will find more readable fonts and better font sizes, improved location support while traveling, five-star rating ability in the mobile app, a night-reading mode with a softer black background, and better location tracking with real page numbers from the print book.
