Burner (for iPhone)

Burner lets you purchase disposable numbers for the many cases you'd want to hide your actual number. It proposes a great idea, but is a bit lacking in execution.

Getting Started

Simply enter your existing number and tap to create a Burner number. Then edit the name of your Burner number.

Burner Created

You have a week to use your Burner number, plus a limit of 20 voice minutes and 60 SMS messages. Refill or extend your number by purchasing more credits.

Receiving Calls

Voice and SMS calls from your burner number are easy to make, but if you receive a call to your Burner number, the caller ID doesn't work. The South San Francisco number shown above is the same as my Burner number.

User Interface

Burner neatly lists all your Burner numbers in one place, with expiration date. At the moment there is no limit to how many numbers you can have.

Tweet Your Number

Burner includes buttons to quickly share your Burner number on Twitter and Facebook.

Credit-based

A single burner costs three credits, or $1.99, and lasts seven days. You can extend this number by purchasing additional credits with a tiered pricing model.
